Vehicle registration

The Vehicle Registration Department provides the following services related to the ownership and use of motor vehicles in the country within the framework of relevant laws and regulations. It includes:

• New motor vehicle registration;
• Registration of migration;
• Changes in technical registration information;
• Reimbursement of state registration number and certificate;
• Exclusion from registration and inclusion to registration;
• Issuance of temporary license plates for motor vehicles;
• Change, exchange and storage of motor vehicles’ license numbers;
• Organization of motor vehicles license number auctions;
• Database, creation and provision of information about motor vehicles.

Motor vehicle registration services are provided at the following locations:

1. 3rd sub-district of Sukhbaatar district (Circus Branch);
2. 3rd sub-district of Bayangol district (Urangan Branch);
3. Yarmag Branch in Khan-Uul district;
4. Denjiin 1.000 Branch in Chingeltei district;
5. Tasgan Branch in 23rd sub-district of Chingeltei district;
6. Nisdeg Mashin Branch in 23rd sub-district of Chingeltei district;
7. Tavan gan Branch in 8th sub-district of Bayanzurkh district;
8. Branch in Baganuur district;
9. Zaisan Branch in Khan-Uul district;
10. Branch in Technical Inspection Center of 20th sub-district of Songinokhairkhan district;
11. Master Plaza Branch in 20th sub-district of Bayangol district;
12. Misheel Branch in Governmental One-Stop Service Center in 2nd sub-district of Khan-Uul district;
13. E-Mart Branch in Governmental One-Stop Service Center in 13th sub-district of Bayangol district;
14. Dunjingarav Branch in Governmental One-Stop Service Center in 26th sub-district of Bayanzurkh district;
15. Dragon Branch in Governmental One-Stop Service Center in 29th sub-district of Songinokhairkhan district;
16. Auto Sales Logistical Center Branch in 32nd sub-district of Songinokhairkhan district;
17. Da Khuree Branch in 17th sub-district of Bayanzurkh district.

• Starting from September 2023, the motor vehicle passports were converted into electronic form and uploaded to the E-Mongolia electronic system. 
• A service for maintaining the state registration number of motor vehicles was introduced.
